Questions, answered.

Do I need prior experience to join Phi Eight Club?

Not at all! Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced athlete, our training programs cater to different skill levels. Our coaches help you progress at your own pace.

What training programs are available at Phi Eight Club?

Phi Eight Club offers training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Boxing, Wrestling, Muay Thai and HYROX, helping members develop combat skills, strength, endurance and overall fitness along with an open gym. Read more about MMA, BJJ, boxing, Muay Thai and HYROX.

Can I join even if I don't want to compete professionally?

Absolutely! You don't need to be a professional fighter to train with us. Many members join to improve their fitness, learn self-defense, build confidence or simply enjoy combat sports.

What should I bring to my first training session?

Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring a water bottle and towel. Depending on your chosen discipline, we will provide the needed equipment such as boxing gloves, hand wraps or a BJJ Gi. Our team can guide you on the requirements.

How often should I train as a beginner?

For beginners, starting with 2–3 sessions per week is generally a manageable approach. As your fitness and skills improve, you can gradually adjust your training frequency based on your goals and recovery.

Is MMA and combat sports training safe for beginners?

Combat sports involve physical contact and some risk of injury. Beginner sessions typically focus on fundamental techniques, controlled drills and proper movement under coach supervision.

What is the difference between MMA, BJJ, Boxing, and Muay Thai?

Each discipline focuses on different fighting techniques. Boxing emphasizes punches and footwork, Muay Thai incorporates punches, kicks, knees and elbows, BJJ focuses on grappling and submissions, while MMA combines striking and grappling techniques.

Do I have to participate in sparring?

Sparring requirements depend on the program and your experience level. Beginners generally start with technique-based drills before progressing to controlled partner training when they are ready.

Can I train in multiple disciplines at Phi Eight Club?

Yes, depending on your membership plan and class schedule. Training across multiple disciplines can help you develop a broader skill set and improve your overall athletic performance.

What is HYROX training and how is it different from combat sports?

HYROX is a fitness racing format combining running with functional workout stations. Unlike combat sports, it focuses on endurance, strength and conditioning rather than fighting techniques. See HYROX training.

Is there an age limit for joining combat sports classes?

We train ages 5 to 55. Age requirements may vary depending on the discipline and class format, so contact our team to find the right training group. See kids martial arts.

Can I attend a trial class before becoming a member?
